The Library provides access to a wide range of news and current affairs publications, whether newspapers, magazines or other periodicals, in a variety of formats.
In addition to weekday print newspapers, well-known publications such as The Times Educational Supplement, The Times Higher Education and The Economist are available in print form to either read or borrow. For details check the Library Catalogue.
The Sydney Jones Library's Chinese Collection includes current affairs publications eg. China Today.
Most news publications and other popular magazines are available online. Library Press Display provides access for the most recent 60 days coverage. Contemporary newspapers etc. can also be accessed via the Lexis Library and Westlaw UK. In addition, digitized newspaper archives are also available. For details see the e-newspapers guide.
Archive copies of The Times, Sunday Times,The Times Educational Supplement and The Times Higher Education supplement are also available in microform in the Sydney Jones Library. These are kept in a Closed Store. If you wish to use these please enquire at the HelpDesk.
