eBooks are not strictly "borrowed" as print books are, as they are only available to read online or to be downloaded under license agreements with ebook providers/vendors. Consequently they are not issued on your library account with your University / library card, and do not need to be "returned". Other features include the following:

  • off campus 24/7 access (no need to carry heavy books around with you!)
  • no due dates
  • no fines
  • no limits on your borrowing allowance (you can read as many ebooks as you like or can often access an e-book as many times as you like),

Some ebook providers allow a set amount of pages of ebooks to be accessed, for a specific amount of time.

Some ebooks have a limit to the number of people who can use them simultaneously according to the type of licence set by the the ebook provider concerned.  If you find one of these, try again in 15 minutes.

If you have problems accessing e-books / require help in using them contact us.
