If a book has been recently returned the first place to look for it is on the shelves.
The message "recently returned" is displayed up to 24 hours after a book has been returned.
If it isn't on the shelves:
- In the Sydney Jones Library, look on any of the trolleys of books waiting to be re-shelved in that area.
- In the Harold Cohen Library, there is a 'Recently Returned' books section on the Upper Ground floor. Recently returned books are held here before being re-shelved, along with any books left on tables throughout the library before they are re-shelved, so it's a good place to try for any 'recently returned' item.
If you are still unable to find the book, one of the shelvers or any other member of staff will be happy to help. It is possible that the book has been returned very recently, in which case the member of staff may be able to retrieve it for you.
