When an item is displayed in the Library Catalogue with the status On Search, that item has been officially reported as being missing. Searches for the item are being carried out by library staff. If the book is found, the status of the item will revert back to Available. If not found, the item record is removed temporarily from the Library catalogue and a decision is made about replacing the book.
