When you return an item in the Harold Cohen Library, the self service machine will ask you to put it in either a red or yellow box both of which are located next to the self service machines.
If the item is to go in the red box it means that it has been reserved by somebody.
If the item is to go in the yellow box it means it can go straight back onto the normal shelves.
It is very important to make sure items go in the correct boxes.
This is because if an item for the red box accidentally goes into the yellow box the item will be returned to the normal shelves instead of the reservation shelf. The person it's reserved for will still receive email notification that their reservation is ready for collection but when they come into the library to collect it, they will be unable to find it on the reservation shelf and inevitably problems will arise as a result of this.
