A number of study spaces are now equipped with docking stations for use with compatible devices.
Standard Layout
Compatible desks are set up with the following equipment:
- Single monitor
- Keyboard & Mouse
- Docking station

Connecting a new laptop (USB-C)
Remove the single USB-C cable from the dock (it may be loose on the desk) and connect it to your laptop.

This will connect to the monitor, keyboard and mouse already on the desk.
Connect your headset as you would normally – Bluetooth, a USB port on your laptop or a USB port on the dock if there is one free.
If you have issues connecting your laptop, please check that all cables are securely connected:
Docking Stations have a number of ports:
- Network cable (ethernet)
- Monitor cable (display port)
- Keyboard & mouse (USB-B)
- Docking station power (13A)
- Docking station to laptop (USB-C)
As long as you connect cables to the slots they fit, you cannot connect the docking station incorrectly.
The docking station also has spare USB-B and USB-C slots to allow you to connect charging cables for phones, tablets etc if you need them.
If you are still unable to connect, or if you experience any other problems, please contact the IT Services Helpdesk.
