Datastream is a database for Financial and Economic research data from Thomson Reuters.

In the Library it is only available on a dedicated PC in the Sydney Jones Library, on the 1st floor of the Abercromby Wing (outside Room 110). To access Datastream on this PC, click on Datastream and enter the Datastream password, then you can access the Datastream Interface from the desktop shortcut, or via Microsoft Excel.

Datastream can also be accessed from a few PCs in the Management School.

What information does it give?

Datastream Advance gives access to historical financial information. It also provides a range of charting and reporting tools to enable you to display, download and manipulate data.

How do I get help?

See the Getting Started Guide on the Datastream Extranet. A print copy is kept next to the Datastream PC outside Room 110.

The Datastream Knowledge Network offers webinars and video guides (students must use their email to access these – this is accepted as our “corporate” email.)

Note that Datastream is only available to those with a Managed Windows Service login, i.e. staff and student members of the University.

For more help contact the Liaison Librarian for Organisation and Management.
