Bloomberg is a specialist database platform which provides access to financial data such as equities, commodities, foreign exchange and price indices.
Bloomberg is not available in the Library, but is available in the McKenzie Trading Room in the Management School. There is no need to book a study space. Access to the room is Monday to Friday 9:00 - 17:00 through the year and with late opening on Monday and Wednesday till 21:00 term-time only.
Bloomberg requires customers to set up their own username ("Bloomberg Registration" guidance). It is necessary to have a mobile phone with you when using Bloomberg for the first time as details have to be provided to them, in person, at the time of registering.
Once you are a registered customer you can sign up for the free, certified “Bloomberg Market Concepts” course ("Bloomberg Market Concepts" guidance)
If you have any queries about Bloomberg, please e-mail ulmstech@liverpool.ac.uk.
How do I reference data I've found on Bloomberg?
Please see the relevant section in Cite them Right to see how to reference specialist financial databases databases, such as Bloomberg or Datastream, that do not have a URL.
For further information please contact your Liaison Librarian.
Please note you should always refer to any departmental/school guidelines you’ve been given.
