Ovid is a platform that hosts databases. Currently the Library subscribes to one database on this platform and that is MEDLINE. As such, sometimes MEDLINE is referred to as OVID. MEDLINE is the database and OVID is its host platform.
- Accessing Ovid Medline
You can access Ovid MEDLINE via the following routes:
- the Databases section on the Library homepage
- the Biomedical Sciences, Allied Health Professions and Nursing, Medicine and Psychology Library Guides
- Library Search
- Personalisation features in Ovid
Creating a personal account in Ovid is free and easy, and will enable you to use Ovid/Medline personalised features such as My Projects, save searches, and create automatic alerts. This is in addition to your MWS account. You should use your university email address to set up your account.
My Projects is a research organisation area containing projects and folders where you can store citations, searches, text, results, full text, videos, images, and many other items. See the My Projects quick reference card for further details on how to use this feature.
