The Digital Message Service (DMS) is a telephone based fire safety system used to alert people that the fire alarm has been activated. This service can be used by anyone who may not hear the fire alarm when in the building such as customers wearing headphones or customers who are deaf or hard of hearing.
The service is available in the Sydney Jones Library and Harold Cohen Library as well as other University buildings. Signage in the buildings will inform you about DMS, with a number and location code to text (charged at standard SMS rate) or you can register in advance:
-
for Harold Cohen location text HCLDMS to 07860017165
-
for Sydney Jones location code text SJLDMS to 07860017165
