You need to login to Library Search if you want to request items, to access, view and reserve items already on loan to you, or to see results which are only available to University of Liverpool staff and students.

Logging in to Library Search varies, depending on your membership type:

  • Staff and student members of the University of Liverpool need to log in to Library Search using your MWS credentials, and then verifying via Duo authentication. If you encounter any problems with using Library Search, get in in touch with us (at one of our help desks, via email or live chat). Please note however, for problems with Duo authentication please contact the University IT Services Department
  • If you're an honorary member of staff or online student and you don't have a physical University ID card, you may encounter problems when accessing Library Search using the MWS login option. If this happens, please complete our Library Search login query form and we'll look into the problem for you. 
  • If you hold a Visitor membership of the Library that allows you to borrow items, you will need to use the Visitor login option, and enter the details given to you when you joined the Library. If you encounter any problems, get in in touch with us (at one of our help desks, via email or live chat)
