In EndNote, to import references:
- Highlight the record(s) you want to export
 - Click File and then select Export
 - File name: enter a file name (must be a .txt file)
 - Save as type: Text File (*txt)
 - Output style: Select RefMan (RIS) Export
 - Click Save

In Reading Lists @ Liverpool:
- Select My Bookmarks
 - Select Add bookmark
 - Select Import citations
 - Find the file and select Import
(You can import the file to your 'basket' or add the references to a new reading list.)
If the import is successful, you will receive the following message:
"RIS file has been successfully submitted. Importing resources takes a little time ..."
You have the option to create a new list to import the citations into. If you import the bookmarks without adding to a new list they will be stored in My Bookmarks: you can then add them to existing lists.
A new list will be under My Lists in Reading Lists @ Liverpool. You can edit the list to create sections and add importances and notes.
There is a limit of 300 items in each file. If you need more, split the references into multiple files.
Data imported via RIS may be overwritten by data from Library Search.
