If you make changes to the list that the library needs to know about (e.g. you have added or require a new title), please communicate with the Library by requesting a Review.
To review online programmes lists with our E-Learning partners (e.g. Kaplan Open Learning), or related readings enquiries, please contact the E-Learning Librarian to request a review, rather than using the review tool.
How to Publish and Request a Review for your reading list
After updating your reading list, you will see a banner saying 'Unpublished changes! Your changes have been saved but not published.' You will also see a status label under your module title saying 'UNPUBLISHED CHANGES Latest changes are not published'.
While your reading list is unpublished, your students will not be able to see the latest changes made to it.
If you would like the Reading List Support Team to review the list to action those changes, please first select Publish on that banner and then Request review from Edit dropdown menu.
You can also select Publish by clicking the new floating button that appears on your screen as you scroll down the list. The banner on the left will remind you that the changes you have made remain unpublished.
Reasons to Publish and Request a Review:
- You’ve added a new book to your list and you want the library to order a copy.
- Sending for review ensures the library takes into account student numbers and importance set. (Requesting through GIFM or requesting a reading list review?).
- Student numbers have increased - enter the new numbers as a Library note so we can check there are enough copies.
- You’ve highlighted a book as Key and want the library to buy an eBook.
For more information on Reading Lists Reviews, see My reading list has been reviewed but what do the review outcomes mean?
*Remember:
When you’ve finished making changes to your list, make sure you both publish and send the final version for review.
Please be aware that there is a lead time of eight weeks for ordering print books for the library. eBooks may be made available more quickly. The library will try and source eBook versions whenever possible, particularly for Key items. If no eBook is available, you can recommend that a chapter be digitised and added to your reading list.
If you have any questions or problems, please contact the Reading List Support Team.
