Get It For Me is a free service operated by the Library and is a one stop shop for learning, teaching and research resource needs. The service is available to staff and students of the University of Liverpool (including those studying online programmes and continuing education students on accredited courses) as well as Alumni, honorary staff, Associate members and retired staff with a library account. Simply tell us what you need and we will do our best to source it as quickly as possible. To learn more about the service and how it operates, you can watch the video at the bottom of this page.

The service is fully integrated into Library Search, and options to use any of the services outlined below will be presented to you as you browse for resources on our search platform. Please note you will need to sign in to Library Search to use the request options for the item you want. Once signed in, after searching for an item, click expand your search at the top of the results to see items beyond the Liverpool collections and options to obtain items not listed.

Which service do you require?

Use the Click and Collect service to reserve print items held in the Sydney Jones and Harold Cohen Libraries. You will receive an email when your items are ready to collect.

If you are unable to collect your resources from the Library, we can post the titles to your current work or personal address. Please allow 10 working days for this service.

For further help and support about the home delivery service, please contact library@liverpool.ac.uk

If the titles from your Library Search results are not held by the Library or are unavailable on the shelf, use the Title Request option to request new or additional titles. We will either purchase the title from authorised suppliers or borrow it from another library. Please note: the length of time it takes to deliver your item will vary depending on availability.

If the option to request a new title does not display on your result page, please use the Purchase Request form.

For staff members, Reading Lists @ Liverpool is the easiest and most effective way to ensure the library orders your teaching resources in the appropriate numbers to support the students on your module.

For further help and support with this service, please contact the Reading List Support Team.

Students if you need support with reading material or are struggling to locate or access resources on your reading list, get in touch with the Reading List Support Team by using this feedback form, giving as much detail as you can so we can investigate on your behalf.

Once you have conducted a search on Library Search, use the Article / Chapter Request option, or the Article / Chapter request form, to request part of a journal issue or a book and we will aim to acquire a digital copy where possible. The service can be used to request scanned copies from material held in the Library and from resources that currently are not part of the Library collection.

Please be mindful that the Library follows copyright guidelines. For more information please consult our Copyright Library Guide page. All requests should be for personal use only and you should not request more than 10% or more than one chapter of a book or one article from the same issue of a journal.

Staff members wishing to submit digitisation requests for Reading List @ Liverpool please see below.
